Freshman Year

If I were to describe to the best of my abilities what freshman year felt like I would say, "A tsunami of presentations that only get more challenging and exciting with time."

Mission

Gateway Simulation

One of the most anticipated events of my freshman year, by far, was the Gateway Simulation. This was a presentation that would span from January to late March. The goal of this project was to make a marketing plan in order to move a restaurant chain to another country.

In the beginning of January each group was assigned a restaurant chain to move and a country to move it too. The pairs were: Wahoo's Fish Taco and Argentina, Lucille's Barbeque and Italy, Jersey Mike's Subs and Iceland, and Slater's 50/50 and Taiwan.

My group was assigned to move Wahoo's to Argentina. Crystal Nguyen, Matt Laipenieks, Taylor Arsenault, and myself founded Mountain Movers Inc. and worked for three months to create a marketing plan. Presentation Day went extremely well. I can remember improvising many of the answers to the judge's questions really quickly. My group won in the Wahoo's category and I received 2nd Best Speaker as well.
